Discovery & Research

Find the best health technology products out there. Research it. Learn from it. Then design something even better.

Secondary Research / Market Analysis

As the health technology field became more popular with fitbits and Apple watches, Evolve Biologix had to rely heavily on market analysis to analyze what current features on available apps were effective and where Evolve could offer a better product.

Persona Development & Empathy Maps / Defining the Target Audience

To bridge the gap between the end-user needs and business goals, journey mapping & persona development workshops were used which helped define a clear target audience and the potential impact on real users.

Scientific Research / Validating data & technology

The goals of the research process were twofold: first, learn how existing members view the program and understand how we can make the experience

Beta User Testing / Validating data & technology

The goals of the research process were twofold: first, learn how existing members view the program and understand how we can make the experience

“Evolve is a way of measuring a base level, but on a more advanced level it’s a way of measuring my psychological transcendence, and daily monitoring of my emotions”

“The app has allowed me to go deeper into my meditation because I can track in real time and see my emotional state…what you can track, you can improve.”

“I think that for anyone with anxiety…it's so helpful because not only does it tell you, there's nothing wrong with you, but that it’s just a physiological reaction”

Design Explorations

The process of design explorations sparked creativity, unlocked solutions, and shaped a visual language that was perfectly tailored to the target audience.

Low-fi Wireframes / Understanding tech integration

Low-fi wireframes and sketches were essential while collaborating with developers and data scientists, helping to navigate the complexities behind the health science and tech, fostering brainstorming and shared understanding.

Beta User Testing / Validating data & technology

The goals of the research process were twofold: first, learn how existing members view the program and understand how we can make the experience.

Brand & Design Direction / Tailor visual language

A range of design and brand directions were explored, from playful, hand-drawn illustrations to more serious, minimalist designs. Ultimately we relied on user feedback to understand which visual language best spoke to our target audience.

FRIENDLY / SOFT

PLAYFUL / PASTEL

SCENIC / SERIOUS

Final Product

Know your users inside out. Anticipate their needs and innovate solutions they didn't even know they needed.

With a user-centered approach firmly in place throughout the organization, the remaining pieces of a successful MVP seamlessly fell into place. With a defined target audience to shape an effective brand identity we transitioned into market research and ideation. After establishing short term and long-term goals to inform our product roadmap we dove into app development, continuously refining and enhancing the user experience based on ongoing user testing and beta-user data.
